We loved the beautiful natural setting of this campground in southwest Switzerland. Families will appreciate the very affordable Pass Saint Bernard, which covers many family-friendly activities including a ropes course on the campground property and the nearby chair lift with mountain scooter.
Hike close to the base of the Matterhorn, crossing a barren rocky landscape carved by the glacier ice.
Beautiful Zermatt trail exploring the valley carved out by the Gorner glacier, today filled with larch trees and a rushing river. Nearby playground and picnic area for families.
Beautiful alpine hike in southern Switzerland with views of the Aletsch glacier, crossing a suspension bridge over a gorge. Particularly nice in fall when the larch trees turn bright yellow. A bit challenging at 11km, so better for families with older kids.
How to visit Glacier 3000 near Gstaad, including a suspension bridge, alpine coaster, summer sledding park and glacier hike.
This mountain hut overlooks the Morteratsch glacier and surrounding peaks, with a short moderate 5 km hike along the glacier to reach the hut.
Is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Switzerland worth a visit? See what we think.
Ride a cable car to a view point over the Morteratsch glacier and some dramatic peaks. Then a short scramble up to the “Highest Fire Pit in Europe” where you can grill up a picnic.
