This new treetop walk in eastern Switzerland is nice low key outing for families. The main event is a elevated walkway that loops 500m in the forest, with nice views of the surrounding landscape and signboards educating you about the variety of trees in the area.

Below the walkway, there is a fun playground and another loop path, with more interactive educational signboards. There is a big picnic area with fire pits as well as a café. I thought the walkway was beautifully designed and the whole park enjoyable for families, but it’s a bit pricey in my opinion. Love to hear what you think!

Overview

The Tree Top Walk is located in eastern Switzerland, near St. Gallen, not really close to anything else. They specifically built this attraction to draw tourists to this region, which is full of beautiful rolling hills and forests, but nothing famous.

The Tree Top walk itself is perched on top of a hill, mostly in a forest. There is a 500m raised walkway winding through the trees, with several signboards educating you about different kinds of trees. You must pay an entrance fee to go on this walkway, shown in black on the map below.

Underneath the walkway is a playground and another path with interactive educational signboards, shown in orange above. This part is free to enter and use. Next to the tree top walk, there is a cafe, a picnic area with fire pits and wood, water fountain, and WCs.

Getting There

By car: Drive to Mogelsberg and follow signs to Baumwipfelpfad. There are a few parking areas. I parked at the closest one at Lettenstrasse 20 9122 Mogelsberg. From there, it’s a 700m walk uphill to the Treetop walk area. There is another parking lot right at the entrance, but it’s only for vehicles with disabled persons.

By public transport: Take a train to Mogelsberg (the S4 and S8 from St. Gallen stop here). Then it’s a 30 min hike up the hill (about 100m elevation gain) to reach the Tree Top walk. The path is shown in blue below. The solid line is suitable for strollers, the dotted line for walkers.
