Ski season in Switzerland is typically mid December to mid March.

However, in November, a few high elevation ski resorts usually open for pre-season skiing. This usually includes just a couple lifts and slopes, sometimes only weekends.

Depending on snow conditions, ski areas may open or close with little notice. So check live status shortly before heading to the slopes to see what is open.

Since services are limited during pre-season, you might find the lifts, slopes and restaurants rather crowded until the full resort opens.

Here are a few Switzerland ski resorts that often open for winter sports in November.

Note: ski resorts may close lifts without notice due to high winds and/or poor snow conditions. Please check current lift and slope status before heading out.
