The best deal for summer is the Zurich “Ferienpass” for kids aged 6 to 16. For only CHF 25, your child gets free entry to over 120 swimming areas in Zurich canton, free entrance to the Zürich Zoo and 45 museums, discounts on all sorts of activities like skills park, ropes courses and go carting, and free public transportation for the five week summer break.

It also includes free public transportation for older kids that are traveling to these activities without their parents, which is great for tweens and teens that want some freedom to roam with their friends.

This pass is valid from 16 July to 21 August 2022.

You can buy this pass at any train station counter and big Migros stores. You’ll need a passport photo for your child.

Suggested activities to do with the pass

Here are my posts about some of the activities included in the Ferienpass. Some are discounted 30-50%, others are free with the pass.

Sport activities

We love this ropes course because it has a wide variety of courses (even for kids aged 4+), it’s super close to Zurich city so we don’t have to travel far, and it includes entrance to a great pool with water slides. Hope you like it!
Enjoy sports indoors at this warehouse filled with trampolines, a freestyle skate course, pumptracks, parcour obstacles, big air jumps, and a Ninja warrior style obstacle course.
This fun ropes course in the trees has routes designed for both big and small. There is also a big playground, alpine slide, and a theme trail for children.

Museums

Super cool new museum in Zürich city with lots of interactive illusions, a fun outing for family and friends of all ages.
Science discovery museum, with four floors of hands-on exhibits. Lots to learn and experience for all ages, A great rainy day option near Zürich.
This interactive museum demonstrates the history of mankind and explains how the body works through dozens of colorful, interactive displays and fun activities for kids.
Fun museum for football fans filled history, videos, memorabilia, games and hands-on activities for all ages.
A huge interactive museum focused on the environment, with educational games scattered through the museum. We loved testing a variety of scooters, bikes and electric cars on the testing track. A great way to learn about ways to improve our family’s environmental impact.
Tons of fossils, dinosaur bones, life-size dino models, dioramas and informational displays spread throughout this surprisingly large museum. Great for kids.

  1. Do you have to live in Zurich to get the pass? Or can we get it if we live elsewhere? Technorama alone pays for the cost!

    1. Sorry for my late reply. I don’t think you have to live in Zurich but I’m not positive. The website doesn’t say anything about that kind of restriction. Unfortunately, I don’t think Technorama is covered by the pass anymore.
