This free “wild” animal park south of Zürich features animals that are native to this area like deer, mountain goats, wolves, boar, wildcats, etc. The park is designed with a more natural feel than a zoo, so it’s a bit like a walk in the woods where you might see a deer in the distance.
Kids love the big playground at the entrance with a zipline, swings, water play, slide, etc. There’s a restaurant and a big picnic area with grill pits. Besides the parking, it’s free, so it’s an easy choice.

Getting There
By car: drive through Adliswil and follow Albisstrasse up the hill. You’ll see the park on your left. Turn left on Schwerzistrasse then your next left into the parking lot. If it’s not crowded, you can drive all the way up to the park entrance and playground where there are a few spots.
By transit: Unfortunately, it’s difficult to get here by public transportation because all the stops are quite far from the park. The option with the least walking is taking the S4 train to Thawil, then taking bus 240 to Langnau am Albis, Unteralbis. Then about 1 km walk to the park.
The animals
This sign shows how many animals (male, female, child) they have of each type.

Many of the enclosures have interactive info boards.

The signboards in the wildcat enclosure show how the wildcats communicate through body language

My son trying to match dog nose and tails on one of the many educational signboards.

There are little paths through the park and forest.

The deer can be seen from the road and parking area.

The playground
Sometimes my kids never made it off the playground to see the animals.

Where to eat
The cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, typical Swiss fare.

Mini play area next to the cafe.

The picnic area with tables, benches and fire pits with wood.

Parking is now 10 francs, not 5.
Thanks for the updated info! I’m disturbed to learn about the big jump in parking fees. This makes it much less desirable for a quick easy outing for the kids. But I guess if the wild park is still free, it’s still affordable.
Parking isn’t free anymore, unfortunately. Given the easy Access via public Transport it’s no big deal but i thought i’d mention it.
You are right! I knew that but forgot to update this post. Thanks for reminding me.
