Kind words from our readers

Thank you for your AMAZING website. My wife and I have a now 5 and 3 year old. We came for two years in 2011 and we never want to leave. Thanks mainly due to how amazing Switzerland is but also because of all the fantastic suggestions and information you have given on your site. It is such an amazing site and I tell every expat with children it is our first stop when trying to plan family excursions. Thanks again, Chris

Just a quick note to say Thank You for your amazing website. Its a beautiful sunny day today and I started to think about planning my family’s spring/summer getaways, and the first site I went to, as always, was Moms:Tots:Zurich. Your site has led us on countless hiking and biking trips over the last 3 years. Well done and a HUGE thank you!! – Laura

Thank you for your fantastic web site. We’ve visited Zürich twice in the last year and a half (2 weeks each visit) and are visiting again next month. So I’ve been researching again! I have gotten so many excellent activity ideas from reading your posts over the years. @seattlerachel

Thanks so much for your blog – I told my husband that I “hit gold” when I found it. We are expat Americans in Germany with a 2 and 5 year old and I’ll be selecting some of your hikes for our vacation this summer. Now in my next life I want to live in Zurich!  – Andrea

I just want to thank you for the amazing service you provide. We moved to the Zurich area from Singapore almost a year ago and have enjoyed so many lovely, interesting and fun excursions thanks to you. Today it was the Kilchberg Farm – would have probably never discovered that otherwise! So many thanks to you. – Lindsey

Thank you for another great hiking idea! We ventured to the Bachalpsee (and back to First) yesterday and it was my son’s longest hike. The views were beautiful, but the best part was the confidence my son got from finishing the hike. Thank you!! – Sheila

  1. Thanks for your posts and articles. Invaluable research for hiking this spectacular country . Your information was super helpful as I chose the hoher Kasten geological hike followed by the Oeschinensee panorama loop. Important note: currently there is no way around the lake at Oeschinensee due to rockfall. It is also easy to accidentally wander onto a very difficult alpine path if you are distracted by the views! My fault of course! Thanks again for your posts

    1. Thanks for the info about Oeschinensee. I’ve never hiked all the way around the lake, I didn’t know there was even a trail there. Maybe I’ll look into it after the rock fall is cleared.

  2. Hi, We’ve been using your website regularly and find it really awesome for planning a quick, last-minute hike.
I noticed the western part of Swiitzerland isn’t really covered by you (for e.g. around Gstaad). Any particular reason for this?
    Thx,
    Dave

    1. Hi Dave, I would love to cover more of western Switzerland but it’s too far for a day trip for us and we don’t have so many opportunities for weekend overnights because of other obligations. Gstaad is a particular big hole in my Swiss experience and I hope to change that next summer if possible. I’ve only done one hike in that area more than 10 years ago and I never got around to posting it. That said, we also don’t go so much to far west Switzerland (like Freiburg and Jura) because it’s not in the tall mountains, which we prefer. But the countryside is very lovely out there and we have enjoyed the hikes we’ve done in that region. In the meantime, I can recommend Hana lives in Western Switzerland and blogs about hiking there: https://www.ourswissexperience.com/en/

    1. Hallo. Ich spreche und schreibe auch auf Deutsch, aber noch nicht hier auf meine Website. Haben Sie eine Frage dazu? Lg, Tanya

  3. Hi I’m not a mum, I’m a dad and my family and I have been in Switzerland 3 years now. Your website really has been our Bible for us and my wife and I (and two small kids) cannot thank you enough. Every colleague, neighbour, or random new person we meet who is new to Switzerland we share the link with. If we bump into you on a trail ever, we will buy you lunch!

    1. Dads are welcome too! I’ve long wanted to change our name to be more inclusive but too many people know us by this name already. So happy you’ve found our website useful and thanks so much for sharing it. Please say hi if you see us on the trail. And let us know if you find any other gems that we should review here. Wishing you happy trails this summer.
