Park im Grüene is a big park, with a playground, a big Migros restaurant and lots of special activities and events. It is open year around and entrance to the park is free. The park has lots of wide open grassy fields and they often have lounge chairs available to use for free. The big playground (shown above) has a couple slides and lots of climb on.

From late March through middle October, they offer the following special activities.

A big attraction is the traditional Kasperli puppet show. Wednesdays and Sundays at 15:00 and daily during the summer school holidays. Entrance is free. More information and schedule available on their website: www.chasperlitheater.ch

A small train circles through the park Wednesdays and Sundays 14:00 to 15:00 and 15:30 to 17:00. It also runs daily during the summer school holidays, except Saturdays.

Pony rides are offered Wednesdays and Sundays, from 14:00 to 15:00 and 15:30 to 16:30, good weather only.

For both the train and pony rides, you must buy a 1CHF token in the machine next to the Kasperli theater.

On hot days in summer, they turn on the fountains in a small splash pool.

The Migros self-service restaurant in the park, offers a salad bar, sandwiches, a variety of hot food, ice cream and treats. You can also bring picnics into the park, but I don’t think there are fire pits or grills. There are water fountains and WC facilities.
