Eating cheese fondue is beloved Swiss tradition and a fun way to spend a cold weather evening with friends and family.
Fondue isn’t difficult to find. But there are many special places to enjoy it, particularly in winter, including popup chalets at Christmas markets, tram rides and gondola cars.
Below are our favorite places to enjoy fondue in Zürich. For some of the fondue experiences below, you will need to book well ahead as demand is high and space is limited.
Popup Fondue Chalets at Christmas Markets
1. Fondue Chalet at Weihnachtsdorf Christmas Market
At the Zürich Weihnachtsdorf Christmas Market near the opera house, you’ll find the “Klosters Hüschi” popup fondue chalet. It’s a great place to warm up and rest your feet after cruising the market stands.
