Switzerland is the best place to teach children how to hike! Many mountain resorts have easy trails for families as well as theme trails, playgrounds and other amusements that make hiking fun. 

Here are our favorite hikes in Switzerland for little kids, from about age 3-6. Happy hiking!

Starter hikes under 2km

These hikes are short and easy with fun activities and playground to keep your little one distracted and moving.

Fun hiking trail for kids with activities, including a giant xylophone, an obstacle course, and small suspension bridge. Plus a playground with trampolines and scooter run.
An easy walk around an alpine lake with mountain views. Many amusements for children including a theme trail, huge playground, tall jump into an air pillow and pony rides. Suitable for strollers.

Learning to hike longer distances

Short, but a little dangerous

These trails are short and easy but also near cliffs, so only ok if your child will stay close to you and not run off the trail.
